This past weekend Zoe and I traveled by Megabus to Kansas City. From there we drove to Atchison, KS and had a fabulous weekend visiting friends and meeting new people at Benedictine College. Despite disapproving of Christmas before Thanksgiving... we hung out in a beautifully Christmas decorated apartment and played Just Dance 3. I learned that I suck at Just Dance... unless I'm playing it with young children... In the middle of the night we ventured to Daylight Donuts- the greatest place ever! Eating a delicious donut at 2am is quite a satisfying experience. Saturday was a bum day, but it was what all of us needed!! It was the perfect day to just eat, watch movies, and hang out. Our evening was full of some BC's Got Talent, A Very Potter Musical, star "gazing," and more Daylight Donuts!! Most people were excited about gaining an extra hour of sleep this weekend because Daylight Savings Time ended, but I enjoyed having an extra hour of life and spending it have a fabulous time. Sunday we ate at an amazing BBQ place in Atchison. It was so delicious!! I really love BBQ... a lot... Then we watched some intramural volleyball games and worked on homework. We had to get back to Kansas City in time for our Megabus back to St. Louis. We barely made it there. I'm not sure what would have happened if we hadn't made it there in time... but we did!
This weekend was absolutely great. The people I met and hung out with all weekend are truly awesome people. I'm so glad I got to spend so much time getting to know new people, and I can't wait to go back! This weekend came at a perfect time. It was so nice to basically be on a retreat all weekend from life. I got to just bum around and enjoy hanging out with great people. I'm so glad I got to be with my friends at BC and see them. It's so cool to meet all their friends and experience their lifestyle at college. It's amazing how different their experience at BC is from mine at SLU. Just the whole atmosphere is completely different being in the middle of nowhere rather than the middle of the city. Thanks to all the BC folks that made my weekend fantastic!! Hopefully I'll be back soon (except not until I get a visit to SLU from yall!)!
